Partial literally means part, not whole. Transport services such as complete, partial, project and heavy transport are offered in the transport sector. The logistics of transporting loads from different customers on the same route using the same truck, pickup or truck is called partial transport or partial freight transport. The main purpose of partial load transportation is to bring the transportation costs to an economic level by loading the loads requested to be transported on the same route, even if the load amount does not fill a complete vehicle, on the same vehicle.
How is partial load calculated?
In the transport sector, the volume of the transported load is also very important along with its weight. Calculations in partial transports, which are part of road transports, are made using calculation criteria for cubic metres, weight and load meters.
M3 calculation of part load is WIDTH x LENGTH x HEIGHT x UNIT.
1 m3 = 333 kg
1 ton = 3 m3
1 ldm = 1750 kg
Partial transport types
Road: It is a widely used mode of transport. Distribution takes place according to RUT planning using land vehicles. Loading takes place from the door or warehouse
Seaway: It offers transportation options like container and open cargo. It is not widely used in domestic modes of transportation. Vessels load partial loads from ports in Turkey with customs clearance.
Rail: It is a method that is not much preferred. Carrying costs are created by renting part of the wagon and transport takes place in this way.
